Don't miss John Roache's audio discussion of ragtime and swing structure! |
~ LISTEN WHILE YOU BROWSE ~
To speed your download time and to avoid forcing you to listen to our personal preferences, we have avoided Embedded (plugin autoplay) music in our pages . However, there is a linked Ragtime file on each page which you may save and/or play immediately with just a mousebutton click. You may also enjoy the Jukebox at page upper right, which will remain available to you even after you leave our site.
REGARDING MIDI PLAYBACK:
For more info about downloading, saving, and playing MIDI sequences
using both plugins and external helper applications, see our audio page.
Server space won't allow us to post duplicate versions of any sequence. We reserve the right to maintain
one version which in our estimation provides the most realistic listening experience based on replay via our
AWE32 wavetable sound card. In a few cases, an exception is made to allow for comparison of distinctly different
artistic styles.
On occasion, we are privileged to receive previously unpublished sequences, which will be posted in a NEW
listing at the top of its appropriate category. New sequences will be transferred to regular listings on an
arbitrary schedule, but not sooner than 30 days after their initial appearance.
We believe that all entries to this library are unencumbered by copyright, but make no warranty as to
copyright status. Where possible, we have gained performer's permission to reproduce their work. If you
have objection to our posting of any of these, or can help with proper credits, please
notify us of your concern.
Special thanks to Pierre R. Schwob and PRS Corporation for their
If your sound card will not play back all of these sequences,
it may simply require a quick Windows adjustment...
NOTE: Posted sequences by John Roache are all special stereo versions, and require an AWE32 or equivalent
sound card for proper playback. If your system has trouble with these spectacular interpretations, go
to John's website and download the .zip files,
which contain monaural versions.
Some sequences with "duplicate" titles are actually completely different compositions of the same
name. Check dates & author names to discern the difference.
There are several selections whose sequencing artists are unknown. If you recognize any of
these and can help "fill in the blanks", we'll be grateful for your help!
